	Palimpsesto. 
	Revista Científica de Estudios Sociales Iberoamericanos  (Scientific Journal of 
	Iberoamerican Social Studies), is a bi-annual scientific publication 
	submitted to peer evaluation, whose objective is the dissemination of 
	products and research results from the areas of Humanities and Social 
	Sciences. 
	
    The magazine opens its pages to studies 
	focusing on Chile and Latin America, which address issues of social, 
	political, historical and cultural interest that contribute to the academic 
	debate and the understanding of our time. Revista Palimpsesto reports and 
	promotes an adequate framework of dissemination practices, based on the 
	proposals of the Committee on Publication Ethics, COPE, in its Code of 
	Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. 
	
    Revista Palimpsesto is published by 
	the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Santiago de Chile. The FAHU 
	has a long tradition of training professionals in the area. Heir of the 
	Technical Institute of Teachers, created in 1944, it is currently composed 
	of the Departments of Linguistics and Literature, Education, Philosophy, 
	History and Schools of Journalism and Psychology. 
	
    The University of Santiago de Chile is one 
	of the sixteen universities of the Consortium of State Universities of 
	Chile. In 1947 it was founded as the State Technical University with offices 
	throughout the country. Subsequently, in 1981, the central house of the STU 
	became the current University of Santiago de Chile. Accredited by the 
	National Accreditation Commission (CNA). It is ranked 4th in the Chilean 
	university and ranked 4th in the ranking of América Economía 2016. It is 
	also ranked in the 2014 World Ranking of Universities QS 2016, Times Higher 
	Education 2016 and in the ranking of Scimago Institution Rankings (SIR) 2016
