	Confluencia 
	is a Hispanic journal of culture and literature from the University of 
	Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado, USA. It is published by the 
	College of Humanities and Social Sciences. 
	
	UNC offers more than 
	100 Master’s, Doctoral and Specialist in Education programs. The university 
	is home to more than 20 leading research, community service and professional 
	development centers and institutes in fields such as education, business and 
	health care. 
	
	The College of 
	Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to the liberal arts tradition of 
	advancing human knowledge through serious scholarship, superior instruction 
	and freedom of academic inquiry. The faculty employs the latest teaching and 
	learning technology while emphasizing accessibility and the benefits of 
	student-teacher interaction. Humanities and Social Sciences majors are 
	broadly educated to think critically and independently, to articulate ideas 
	and appreciate diverse perspectives, and to exercise reason and make 
	informed judgments. This high quality work is reflected in the articles 
	published in the journal Confluencia. 
	
	Confluencia 
	issues scholarly articles and notes in Spanish and English. It covers the 
	three principal areas of the Hispanic world: Spain, Latin America and the 
	United States. The journal invites the submission of manuscripts which 
	promote an integrative approach to the study of culture and literature. 
	
	Highlights include:

		dedicated to enhancing the understanding of the aesthetic and cultural 
		expression of the diverse Hispanic communities, including those with a 
		strong base in pre-Hispanic and African traditions,

		interviews with 
		outstanding figures who have made an impact on the study, expression and 
		promotion of culture and literature. Creative writing are also included.  
	 
	
	Submissions are 
	refereed by at least two expert readers. The Confluencia Editorial 
	Board is composed by scholars from: University of California, campus Davis, 
	Irvine and Berkeley; Georgetown College, The University of Memphis, Loyola 
	University, Texas State University, Wright State University, University of 
	Wisconsin, Miami University, Colorado State University, University of New 
	Mexico, University of Arkansas, Washington University, University of 
	Alabama, Kenyon College, University of Denver, St Louis University, 
	University of Northern Colorado, Arizona State University, University of 
	Pennsylvania and Michigan State University in the US; and from abroad: 
	Universidad de la República, Uruguay; University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras 
	and Boston University-Madrid, Spain. The Confluencia Advisory Board 
	is also integrated by prominent scholars from top national and international 
	universities. 
	
	Confluencia 
	has published twice a year continuously since fall 1985. Every issue to date
