The journal CS is a biannual academic journal published by the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the Universidad ICESI, in Cali, Colombia. CS incorporates a thematic presentation of original research and reflection articles. It favors the richness of investigative, theoretical and disciplinary perspectives of the social sciences and related disciplines.

In May 2010, it became the first private university in southwestern Colombia to obtain the High Quality Institutional Accreditation, which is the Colombian Ministry of National Education’s highest recognition of the quality of academic programs and compliance with social functions. It also is emerging as one of the best universities in the country since it has been first place in the Higher Education National Quality Testing in Colombia (Exámenes de Calidad de Educación Superior, ECAES).

The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences contributes to the university through research, courses, publications and other activities in different areas of the humanities. The Faculty uses the journal CS to disseminate academic studies that address sensitive issues that affect societies - such as inequality, social protection and recognition of minorities as well as culturally and socially excluded communities. CS also includes the scholarly works of national and international academics.

The journal ensures the quality of its texts through a process of arbitration by means of a Scientific Committee, whose members belong to the Universidad Javeriana and Universidad Nacional de Colombia, CEMCA and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana of Mexico, the Federal University of Sao Carlos and the Universidad Estadual do Norte Fluminense of Brazil and the University of Missoure, St. Louis and Cornell University in the United States. In addition, its Editorial Board is composed of members of the University of Antioquia, Universidad Nacional, the Universidad del Valle and ICESI University of Colombia; the University of Sussex, United Kingdom; St. Petersburg State University, Russia and Universitat Tubingen, Germany

LatAm-Studies Full Text includes all the published issues of the journal to date.
